Experience
Jennie has worked in Australia, Italy and the UK in the arts as well as being a Drama educator both in and out of schools since 2004. Her work in theatre includes; directing, production managing, stage managing, technical theatre operation, site managing, acting, wardrobe mistress, script writing and tour managing.
While participating in a study tour with Makhampom Community Theatre Company in Thailand in 2001 she developed a passion for theatre as an educative tool and as a way to develop communities. She continued to use theatre in this way in her work throughout Italy acting in various Theatre in Education tours and facilitating workshops and Summer Camps.
Jennie believes in communities working together to achieve goals. Babushka Productions provides her with many opportunities to extend this practice, within both the Arts and Education industries. She finds inspiration in young people and their ideas and energy and is excited to be able to provide these people with opportunities to develop their creative thinking skills, confidence and sense of self and belonging within these communities.

Wendy is an experienced Drama educator who has been employed in both Australian and International schools. Her career has spanned many facets of education from developing curriculum resources, coordinating drama camps and festivals, marking HSC (Written and Performance) to classroom teaching. Outside the education system she has worked as a director, dramaturge and theatre critic. She has a passionate belief in the importance of the arts in educating young people. She believes that through watching, creating and being involved in theatre, young people have the opportunity to explore themselves and their place in the world.
daniel hilson
Daniel Hilson has broad management experience across several industries, with a common thread of working market creation opportunities in complex business to business and business to government environments. In addition to being the founder of a mid sized software company he has worked in commercial roles for Clayton Utz, Sydney Airport Corporation and is currently employed by Siemens Australia as their Senior Executive for Energy and Environmental Solutions. Daniel has worked on corporate strategies, business plans, marketing plans, as well as solution selling to and for some of Australia’s largest companies.
Daniels two great passions are sustainability and music. He plays double bass and guitar and in addition to a Masters of Commerce (Sydney University) he holds a Bachelor of Music. Daniel is currently completing a Masters of Environmental management at the University of NSW. He is a passionate believer in innovation and the power of the creative arts to inspire people to think laterally. He uses this approach in his current role to seek innovations that help customers reduce their Carbon Emissions using technology.
Daniel has been assisting Babushka with corporate planning, marketing and direction and hopes to assist them grow and succeed so they can continue their invaluable work.

Iconic Australian theatre actor, Daniel is well known for his performance in the land mark production of Cloud Street for Company B Belvoir. He has a successful theatrical career including: The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Pillowman and most recently David Hare’s Gethsemane. Other film credits include: Animal Kingdom, Underbelly, Romper Stomper, Muriel’s Wedding and Love my Way for which he received a Silver Logie.
Daniel is excited about being the patron for Babushka Productions as he is passionate about the arts industry.
